Captain’s Status – “Doing Free Webinar Today!”
I’m doing a last minute webinar for Topaz Labs today and the topic will be on how I created the Elk photo above. This image is a two photo composite done in Photoshop. The Six-point Bull Elk was photographed at Yellowstone National Park while the background was taken at the visitor center at the Grand Tetons. I used various Topaz Plugins to produce the final image. Photowalk Organized by Captain Kimo a Success!
The photo above was taken at the 2012 Scott Kelby Photowalk in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. There were only 5 photo walkers that morning including myself. It was freezing so I wasn’t expecting a big turn out. The ones who did show up were my type of photographers, the Diehards! It might have been cold but we weathered through and had a great time with plenty of amazing photos from it.
Captain Kimo Working on KickStarter Project!
For those who don’t know, Kickstarter.com is a popular website for creative individuals to find help funding projects. I plan on using KickStarter in an upcoming project that I know a lot of you will be very interested in. I will announce the project next month in the November newsletter.
HDR Photography for Beginners Video
I had the opportunity to speak at a local camera club about HDR and found that most of the members had little knowledge on the subject. I know I have tons of info about HDR, but I think producing a video specifically for beginners will make it a whole lot easier for new photographers to understand the world of HDR. And so I’ve decided that will start working on a 2 hour video to cover the fundamentals of High Dynamic Range. I don’t have an exact date for the completion of this video but it won’t be anytime this year. The last three months is always a busy time for me! Of course, if you can’t wait, you can always check out my eBooks and videos with the link below.
