Captain’s Status – taking a breather from the
HDR photography ebook…

I’ve been working endlessly on this book since I got back from my West Virgina and Curasoa trip. I am now finally done with a rough draft! The ebook is currently about 210 pages with lots of pictures and step-by-step techniques. I am excited to finally see the end of this long journey. Currently I’m taking a little break from it to get this newsletter out and do some posting. I’ll start editing and finalizing it next week with a fresh eye. Look forward to seeing it by the end of November!

For those who contacted me for a review copy, I haven’t forgotten, I will email you when the book is ready for review ;-)

Photography website with top notch photos…

Surfing around the internet I found a very cool photography website. This website is called 1x.com and it is loaded with some amazing photographs. This site is similar to Flickr but with a completely different approach. With Flickr, everyone shares their photos, good or bad! This approach makes it hard to see all the quality images. But with 1x.com, it’s moderated so only the best photos are display for view! Don’t believe me, check it out for yourself…

Best free HDR software I found so far…

This free HDR software was emailed to me by the programmer. It’s a very simple yet amazing little HDR program (PC only) called Fusion. You can download it by clicking here.

Below is an example merged using 3 of my exposures. See how it stacks up against the other HDR programs in my HDR software review post. I highly recommend downloading Fusion and taking it for a test drive.
