Stream Before Cullasaja Falls North Carolina

Aug 1, 2011 | Rivers & Waterfalls

I back in Florida after a 5 day photo adventure up in North Carolina shooting waterfalls and creeks. Scenery like this is rare to find in Florida’s landscape. Southern Florida is completely flat with no elevation so waterfalls isn’t something you see here.

This stream is the first spot to be photographed, which is located in Franklin, North Carolina, along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This stream is before Cullasaja Falls, a large waterfall that drops over a deep gorge.

Since I’m not use to processing images like this, I’m playing around with a few different methods. But for the HDR merge, I’m still using Photomatix Pro to tone map the exposures together. Post processing was done using Photoshop.

Software I use for processing my photos:
Photomatix – Used for creating high dynamic range.
Topaz Adjust – Photoshop plugin used to enhance details.
Topaz DeNoise – Photoshop plugin used to eliminate noise.
Topaz CleanPhotoshop plugin used to smooth pixels.
Topaz SimplifyPhotoshop plugin used for artistic affect.
