Full Moon Rise at Jupiter Lighthouse

This has got to be my best Jupiter Lighthouse shot to date. Today was a super clear evening, making it a perfect night for a full moon rise shoot. I would have liked some clouds in the image, but with clouds there’s always a chance of the moon disappearing behind them. Regardless I’m still very happy with the final result of this photo. No HDR with this photo, I’ll do an HDR of it later, but I don’t think it could get any better than this. The only processing done were minor ones other than that it was a straight shot.

Specs for exposure was [email protected], f/[email protected], ISO400 shot with a Canon 5DMK2.

Thanks to my new favorite software The Photographer’s Ephemeris I was able to pin point the location of the moon rise. This aided me in finding the best place to shoot during the moon rise with perfect¬†accuracy. It also tracks sunrises and sunsets as well as moon set. What a great piece of software!
