Captain’s Status – “Working on Video Tutorials”

February has been a productive month for me in producing video tutorials. If you visit my website by clicking here you’ll see 5 videos listed for February! However, one is just a slideshow displaying some of my favorite photos to date. But I think you’ll find that video pretty interesting, especially if you love HDR photography. This lighthouse photo taken last month has received a lot of praise so I did a video tutorial on how I processed it. The video is about 20 minutes long and covers some of my advanced HDR techniques. This video will be available, Monday, February 27th to Captain Kimo Lifetime Members. If you’re a member you’ll get an email from me with a download link. (Note: members include anyone who has purchased my eBook, Secrets to Mastering HDR Photography.)

I plan on doing more videos like this in the future so if you really want to learn the good stuff become a member today. I finally broke down and bought another Canon S90 to replace the one that broke. This photo was taken with that Canon S90 and I am always impressed by the quality of this camera. I bought my latest S90 on eBay for $150.00! My plan is to use it as a stepping stone into underwater photography. No this is not an underwater camera, but there is a underwater case available for less than 200 bucks. Compare that to cost of an underwater housing for my 5D MK2 and that’s nothing. Keep an eye out for some underwater HDR images coming soon!

In case you missed it, I met up with the Jupiter Chief of Police, Frank Kitzerow, to sign this photo of the Jupiter Lighthouse which was purchased from the Gift Shop. This is a very popular photo and has been my best selling image to date. If you’re a local Jupiter resident and want to purchase one for your office, or as a gift for someone special, you can get it there!
