Sony Nex 5 HDR Photography Test Image from Juno Beach Pier

May 15, 2012 | Florida Beaches & Coasts

I’ve recently purchased a Sony NEX-5 and have been testing it out. So far there is something about the image quality when tone mapped just doesn’t quite feel right. It could be a lack of range in each exposure so that’s why I shot 5 exposures for this image. That only helped to reduce noise. Next time I’ll drop the under exposure a full 3 stops to see if that helps any. I’ll update once I figure it all out. The main reason I bought the Sony NEX-5 was so I can have a portable camera with decent image quality when I go to Thailand next month. If I don’t get the HDR the way I like, I might end up getting a Canon Rebel.
