Photomatix Monday – Curacao Ocean Cave

Jan 17, 2011 | Travel & Culture

Curacao has got everything, even caves at the ocean! This cave reminded me of Lords of the Ring where Gollum lived. The cave was dark and damp with a rotting smell that was mixed in with salty ocean air.

It was so misty in this cave that I didn’t think this HDR image was going to be any good. Thinking it wasn’t going to be worth my time processing, I only took a couple of shots. Surprisingly the HDR photo came out a lot better than I expected. Goes to show, with HDR, you never know what to expect until you merge them.

This HDR photo was only tone mapped in Photomatix Pro V4. Come back on Friday to see the final processed HDR image where I run it through Photoshop and put the finishing touches on it.
