Lake Okeechobee Sunset at Port Mayaca

Dec 29, 2010 | Sunrises & Sunsets

Lake Okeechobee the biggest lake in Florida and the 7th biggest in the United States. Can you believe this is my first HDR photo of this lake? Considering it’s only 40 minutes away from where I live you might think I’ve taken dozens of photos already. Nope! Lake Okeechobee might be the biggest lake in Florida but it doesn’t offer much when it comes to photography, at least around the areas I’ve been. This photo was taken at Port Mayaca, next to the flood dams, the only thing of any visual interest that I was able to reach before sunset.
