This is my sharpest Belted Kingfisher shot from the C18 canal on PGA Boulevard. This particular Kingfisher is very skittish so it was rather difficult to get up close for a clean shot. I had a bet with a local shutterbug buddy to see who could get the sharpest image. I spent the last 3 days tying to get a good picture of this bird. What I’ve come to realize is, I need a longer lens. I’m thinking around 800mm, they’re only going for about $10kUSD! So who won the bet? It ended up being a draw since both of us was only able to get the same distance before it flew off.
