Grand Kids Eating Banana Tree Trunk

Mar 28, 2011 | Portraits & People, Travel & Culture

Grandma was cutting banana trunks to feed her pigs… I guess the grand kids thought it was pretty tasty and started munching down on them. When I got there with my camera Grandma lined up the kids for me to photograph. She also made them eat banana trunks as you can see, so it wasn’t my idea to set it up like this, it was all Grandmas. If you’re wondering what banana tree trunks taste like… they really don’t have much flavor, can’t explain it but they don’t taste like bananas that’s for sure.

This is another single exposure HDR processed using Photomatix Pro. To add the finishing touches I used Photoshop and Topaz Plugins to get the affect you see. All this was done with a simple Photoshop Action that I created for producing this type of look. A look I’ve been trying to achieve since I started HDR photography. I finally manage to get the look after combining all the Topaz Plugins in a specific sequence to get the results you see above. I will have the Photoshop Action and HDR Portrait e-book tutorial available in May. Sign up for Captain Kimo’s monthly newsletter to get the latest update.
