Crying Little Boy – Buriram, Thailand

Mar 5, 2011 | Portraits & People

This sad little boy’s name is, Ton. He’s sad because he can’t play with the other kids. He’s one of grandma’s 10 grand childern that she looks after while their parents are… missing? Seems to be the norm around here, even in Cambodia… the grand parents takes care of all the grand kids. I want to say this is because of financial matters, but honestly I think the parents are just a bunch of deadbeats. I really shouldn’t be saying that since I don’t know all the facts. However what I do know is I’ve been here three weeks and only saw one of four parents drop by to see their child, so I call them as I see them… or not for that matter.
